Our priorities then turned to furnishing and fittings. We acknowledged our lack of interior design experience, realizing that employing professionals to fit out the interior was not a luxury but a necessity if we wanted to do justice to what had already been a costly renovation.

Subsequently, Bailey's of Subiaco referred us to Sally Brothers Interior Design.

Sally and her business partner Selena visited with us at the site, listened to our vague ideas of colour schemes and themes, coupled with our furnishing theme wish list-we wanted a smart city address for our pending retirement with some splashes of red in the colour scheme.

For our inauspicious instructions, Sally and Selena devised and communicated to us colour and furnishing ideas until we agreed on the basics. Then without fuss or confusing detail, they both worked on transforming bare spaces into what is now our beautiful, contemporary city home-the one that we promised ourselves in our retirement, except so much better. Every piece of furniture, floor coving and window treatment has been properly sized and carefully chosen to enhance the space; soft furnishings and fabrics compliment the surrounds and unique wall hangings finish the story.

There is no substitute for experience and knowledge. Our wants and needs were translated via phone and email-we live 1800 kms from our new city home-well defined photos of furniture and fittings options and prices were emailed for our consideration. Inspite of distance, it was a positive experience for all.
